Insurance Policy
Purpose
This policy outlines the requirement for professional liability insurance for Care Providers and highlights its importance in maintaining a safe and trustworthy environment for both care seekers and Care Providers.
—
Policy Statement
All Care Providers using the Carelancer platform are required to maintain professional liability insurance. This policy ensures that both Care Providers and clients (Care Seekers and Decision-Makers) are protected in the event of errors, omissions, or unforeseen incidents during the course of Assistance Services provided to Care Seekers.
—
Proof of Coverage
Care Providers must upload proof of professional liability insurance to their profile during registration and renew it annually to maintain active status on the platform. Acceptable proof includes:
· A copy of the insurance certificate.
· Documentation confirming coverage limits and expiration dates.
For details on the type of insurance required for your role (e.g., HCA/PSW or Nurse), please refer to our Insurance Requirements Guide.
—
Non-Compliance
Care Providers who fail to provide proof of liability insurance will be subject to the following actions:
· Warning: Care Providers will receive an initial notice reminding them to submit valid insurance documentation.
· Account Suspension: If proof of insurance is not submitted by the specified deadline, the Care Provider’s account will be temporarily suspended by Carelancer without further warning. Care Providers may not offer services during the suspension period.
· Account Deactivation: Failure to resolve the issue within the given timeframe after a Care Provider’s account has been suspended will result in permanent account deactivation and removal from the Carelancer platform.
Carelancer reserves the right to reinstate accounts only after all documentation requirements are met.
