Purpose
At Carelancer, we believe that delivering high-quality care starts with professionalism, respect, and integrity. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards and behaviors expected of all Care Providers to ensure the dignity, safety, and well-being of Care Seekers. By adhering to these principles, we can build trust and create a positive experience for everyone on the platform.

Policy
Carelancer is dedicated to creating a trusted platform where Care Providers and Care Seekers connect to ensure high-quality, in-home health care. As a member of the Carelancer community, you are not only representing yourself but also contributing to the integrity and reputation of our community.
To uphold these values, you are required to follow the professional standards set by your governing body, as well as this Code of Conduct. These guidelines ensure that all interactions with clients reflect the highest standards of care and professionalism, reinforcing Carelancer’s commitment to a safe, respectful, and reliable environment.

Core Principles
1. Respect for Clients
o Treat every client (Care Seekers and Decision-Makers) with dignity, compassion, and respect, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.
o Honor clients’ privacy and cultural preferences, ensuring their autonomy is respected at all times.
2. Confidentiality
o Protect all personal and medical information as required by applicable laws and the care provider privacy policy.
o Share Care Seeker information only with the permission of the Care Seeker and/or Decision-Maker (as applicable), and solely for purposes related to the services you provide as a Care Provider to the Care Seeker. This includes activities necessary to provide Assistance Services, coordinate Care Seeker support, or comply with legal or regulatory requirements.
o In limited circumstances and as allowed by applicable laws and regulations, you may also share personal information without the Care Seeker and/or Decision-
Maker’s consent, for example if you are required to notify authorities of a reasonable danger to someone’s life.
3. Professionalism
o Provide services in a timely, competent, and courteous manner.
o Maintain a professional appearance and a positive attitude at all times.
o Avoid any behavior that could be interpreted as unprofessional, including the use of inappropriate language or gestures.
4. Integrity
o Perform your duties honestly and ethically.
o Never engage in fraudulent, abusive, or neglectful practices.
o Keep professional boundaries with clients and their families.
5. Safety and Quality of Care
o Always prioritize the safety and comfort of Care Seekers.
o Follow any care plans and procedures you may have access to.
6. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
o Adhere to all federal, provincial, state, and local laws, regulations, and licensure requirements relevant to Assistance Services.
o Participate in required training and certifications to maintain compliance.

Prohibited Behaviors
Carelancer has zero tolerance for the following behaviors:
· Engaging in any form of discrimination, harassment, or abuse.
· Working under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
· Falsifying documentation or misrepresenting services provided.
· Violating a client’s personal or medical boundaries.

Consequences of Violations
Violating this Code of Conduct undermines the trust and safety of our community. Depending on the severity of the violation, Carelancer may take any decision it deems reasonable, at its sole discretion, including one or more of the following :
· Issue a warning or request corrective action.
· Temporarily suspend your account.
· Permanently remove you from the platform.

Review of Policy
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure continued compliance with Canadian laws and its effectiveness in improving service quality on the platform.
